Dr. Shoes launches a crowdfunding campaign to finance investments in digital media and to launch a new collection and home delivery solution. The solution appears to allow business continuity in times of pandemic.
Dr. Shoes, an 100% Portuguese startup specialized in luxury shoe shine services, calls for small amounts to be donated and contributed through the crowdfunding platform PPL, in order to continue its business.
The launch of the home service called Dr. Shoes Pick’N’Go allows the brand “to be closer to its thousands of customers in a safe, convenient and convenient way for them”.
Carlos Manuel Reis, founder and CEO of Dr. Shoes Portugal, decided to reinvent the existing business model with the arrival of the pandemic and listening to customer feedback.
Therefore, he bets on a service “of greater proximity, safe in terms of sanitary hygiene, an innovative solution in the market for the collection and free home delivery of all types of shoes, sneakers that need cleaning, repair or the noble and ancient art of greasing ”.
“After two years of existence, Dr. Shoes’ evolution towards the Pick’N’Go solution is the natural step to take in the innovation that it brought in a sector with 300 years of history in Portugal. The Covid-19 pandemic accelerated this step in our business plan, to ensure the most possible jobs for our employees in the current scenario ”, underlines the CEO.
The amounts foreseen for the fundraising of Dr. Shoes aim at the migration to a new space adapted to respond to the logistics of the new solution, ‘Pick’N’Go’; updating the billing system; a new website and the dissemination on social networks of this solution.
Carlos Manuel Reis promotes this campaign, as he believes that “like other countries, crowdfunding is a business financing solution”.
Available on the platform, the contributions are awarded with brand services, from € 20 to € 90, and include shoe shine services, intensive tennis washing, hydration of leather bags and five shoe treatments.
