A ISP – International School of Palmela, was funded in 1996 with the goal of offering teaching quality both on an academic level and spiritual level.
The International School of Palmela received its licence in 1998 for the first cycle, the year it gave the first steps with only 8 students.
In 2002 the school began grade school when the construction work was done in the new building. The school has as philosophy to increase one class per year.
In 2007 it received authorization for secondary school and in 2009, reached the top of best national school occupying the second place nation wide and first place in private schools.
That same year the school decided to embrace the challenge set by parents and adopt an international curriculum. After an audit with Cambridge University, the Islamic College received an authorization to become a Cambridge centre, implementing the new international curriculum in 2010.
In 2011 the school, continuing its search for constant improvement, joined the prestigious organization ECIS – European Council of International Schools, hence becoming an international school with worldwide reference.
