“The title of this article represents my thinking well when I read in the press that the complete archive of Diário de Notícias, which brings together everything that was published between 1864 and 2003 – photographs, illustrations and all kinds of documents – was considered a National Treasure by the Council of Ministers. Less luck had the archive of the newspaper Independente, whose photographic archive was donated, this year, to the National Archives of Torre do Tombo, leaving no more living memory of the life of this newspaper.”
